Hi, I’m Flo McCoy
I co-founded Mouse’s Garden outdoor nursery along with my mum, Sonia. It’s the kind of nursery I wanted for my own children, but couldn’t find. I wanted to create a childcare setting that parents can feel good about sending their children to. As a mum of two, I know how hard it is to leave your child. My aim was to try to alleviate that feeling, and make nursery a place that parents feel really good about sending their children to.
I received my level 6 (BA hons) in early childhood studies from the prestigious Norland college, and have worked as a Norland Nanny and maternity practitioner in private home settings for more than a decade. It was a role that took me all around the world, working long hours with high demands.
When we began our family in 2021, I could see it was time to travel less and get back to our roots. We moved back to Coleshill, where I grew up, when our youngest was just 6 months old. I had a strong desire to recreate for her the magical childhood that I was so fortunate to experience. As our family grew I could see a wonderful opportunity unfolding before me to share this special place with others in a unique and exciting way. And with that, Mouse’s Garden was born.
My own children now run through the same fields that my brother and I did when we were growing up, and hopefully your children will, too. I can tell you with firsthand experience that the memories formed within these beautiful stone walls will help mould and shape the adults they go on to become, forever.
Sounds like a tall order, right?! But I feel we’ve done it. I couldn't be more proud of this incredibly special place. Every day I am just bursting with excitement to share Mouse’s Garden with children and their families. I am passionate about getting children back to their roots, letting them thrive in their own time, slowing everything down and just letting them grow and learn naturally from the world around them.
