Because first and foremost, Mouse’s Garden is a family business designed to help other families flourish within a warm and nurturing community where they feel truly at home — surrounded by fresh air, open skies, and the everyday wonder of the natural world.

Set within the beautiful Victorian brick walls of Coleshill Organics, in the heart of the National Trust village of Coleshill, Oxfordshire, Mouse’s Garden occupies a quiet corner of the working farm that our co-founders, Flo — a qualified Norland nanny, and Sonia — a former primary school teacher and deputy head, have called home for over 25 years.

Today Flo and her husband Alex are raising their two daughters on the farm with the same freedom and wonderment that Flo’s own childhood was so indelibly coloured by. Now they all want to share the magic of Coleshill with you and your family, ready to let another generation of children take its beauty and magic into their souls.

Nestled within a beautiful hazel coppice, Mouse’s Garden offers a unique outdoor nursery setting where children are both inspired and engaged to develop their characters and self-confidence. We create safe opportunities that challenge them to grow in their own way and at their own pace through a broad variety of child-led activities. Children can wind their way along the balance beams, crawl through the oak tunnel, play hide-and-seek amongst the coppice and share stories around the fire pit.

Our Approach

Free range childhood.

Our two bespoke yurts provide calm indoor areas where children can enjoy quieter activities. Each yurt is equipped with underfloor heating, ensuring a welcoming retreat after time spent adventuring outside.

One yurt is designed for under-twos, while the other caters to children aged two and over. However, the interconnected layout allows for free movement between the spaces, encouraging mixed-age play and sibling connections.

This flexible environment supports scaffolded learning, where older and younger children learn from and alongside each other, gaining confidence and social awareness.
