Hi, I’m Amber Cowan

As an Early Years Educator at Mouse’s Garden, I feel so lucky to spend my days helping children learn, grow, and discover the world around them. I love getting stuck in with play – whether we’re building dens, following a trail of leaves, or diving into imaginary worlds together. I’m a big believer that learning should feel like an adventure, and that every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and free to explore at their own pace.

I began my childcare journey in 2017 after volunteering with children’s church groups and after-school clubs, and later gained my Level 3 qualification in childcare. I’ve worked with children from nine months to four years, including several years as a preschool room leader, and I’ve loved every moment.

Becoming a mum in 2023 changed my perspective on childhood completely. Watching my son explore barefoot in the garden, even in the rain, reminded me how powerful nature-led play can be. That’s why Mouse’s Garden feels so special to me – it gives children the kind of unhurried, joy-filled childhood I want for my own family.

Outside of work, I love long walks, musicals, and time with my wife and son. I’m also learning British Sign Language – something I’ve always wanted to do.
